Usage Problems

This page covers problems arising from using our service once you are a customer of ours.

The first step to solving your problems is to read the manual if you have not already done so. This has a step by step guide to using our services. Having read the manual, this page will try to answer any of your questions.

I've forgotten my password

Not to worry. Click here (this link is also at the bottom of our home page).

Do you support CGI, ASP, Frontpage Extensions?

Sorry, but not just yet, although we may do in the future.

I cannot log in (not dialup login)
  1. Make sure you have an account. You cannot log-in unless you use us for either dialup or have domains with us. Are you sure that you successfully bought a domain / configured dialup? If you get a message saying domain not recognised anywhere in the following steps, chances are you haven't.
  2. To log in click on the log in button on the bar at the top of 123go page (there is one at the top of this page).
  3. If the login box comes up OK type in your username and password. If it does not, it's probably your browser. Try another browser if you can, or a friends machine. If this works, which it should, it means it's time to upgrade your browser.

If you go straight through without typing in a username and password, try restarting your browser. If you still go straight through, then you have probably told Internet Explorer to remember your password. You need to disable this by clicking Tools>Internet Options. Click on the Content tab, and click on AutoComplete. In the resulting dialog box, click "Clear Passwords".

  4. If you cannot log in using the log in box, check your username and password. Usernames and Passwords are case sensitive, so make sure your typing in uppercase where it should be, and lower case where it should be. Make sure CAPS LOCK is off!
  5. Check that your password is correct by using the "Forgotten your Password" screen to email a new password to you.
  6. Use the form
How do I switch between managing my domains

To do this you need to open a new browser window from scratch (ie. not using Open a New Window on the menus) each time you want to log in to a different domain. For example if you are using Internet Explorer, double click on the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop, and go to 123go.co.uk for each domain name. Log in as normal.

How do I redirect my Domain Names to my dialup account?

Use web forwarding as normal to point to "http://yourdialupusernamehere.123go.co.uk"

Can I have lots of web hosting for all my domains

No, but you don't need to. In your dialup webspace create directories for each domain - if I had the dialup username mickey, my webspace is at mickey.123go.co.uk. Suppose I own mickeymouse.com and donaldduck.co.uk, and I want to have a website for each domain. I would create in my webspace directories "mickey" and "donald", and use web forwarding to point www.donaldduck.co.uk to http://mickey.123go.co.uk/donald and www.mickeymouse.com to http://mickey.123go.co.uk/mickey
